Munche

She's moved in to the room with the others. We keep them separate when we're not around in case anyone would bully her. She often sits on the balcony looking over to the others. She is such a sweetie!

The new girl

She is such a cutie, the new pig. Not that i don't think the other three are cute, off course i do, but this one really is gorgeous.

She came to us from a colleague of mark's. They had had three Piggies but unfortunately the other two has died and Munchies was lonely. They didn't really want her to go but they knew she'd be happier with company.

When we first put them together, lili and Munchies, they loved each other. Munchies was popping like mad and lili couldn't stop following her around. Then they started deciding the rank and at the moment i think they're getting to know each other better. We're keeping Munchies and lili separate for a week and then when we know they are friends and happy we'll introduce them to the other two.

New baby

We've got am addition in the family,..

Moonlight Sonata

I was lazily browsing around iTunes when it hit me, like a fist in my stomach. I stumbled across Moonlight Sonata and suddenly all my memories of Henrik came over me. How he used to sit in the living room in Solna working on the piano, over and over again. Moonlight Sonata.

At the time I didn't even like it. I never understood the beauty of it. Hearing it now takes me back to that living room, to that time and dear Lord is it beautiful.

Why did he kill himself? Why does it still hurt? Will it always hurt, like this?

Recycling

I'm so proud, for the first time in my life have i used a power drill! I fitted this unit under the sink so they can recycle their rubbish. The kitchen is too small for an external bin anyway.

Shelf has moved in.

And it fits perfectly! I'm so chuffed with it, it really does look great with the curtains. Mark needs to put the cross bar on at the back to stabilise it though.

Shelf for the kitchen

I've stained the shelf for the kitchen. Now i need to sew curtains to match. It'll look excellent. :)

New bedding

Back in crystal palace to measure the boiler and put new bedding on. It looks quite nice now, doesn't it?

Crystal Palace

Ah, hemma igen. Jag ar for trott for att kora hela helgen, maste vila lite.

Nej, det ar for mycket pengar helt enkelt.

Almost done

No, not really. But i'm giving up now. Absolutely shattered. Mark is off in the week and he'll do some more then. At least it's a lot more presentable now.

Hmm

I'm not sure about the colour of the chimney breast. Too pinky. Oh well, it's there now!

We're getting there

New paint in the lounge, new lampshade, curtains and scatter cushions.

Need to finish off the painting in the lounge; the chimney breast is going to be darker.

Mark put up the shower and a new shower curtain. Such a difference.

Breakfast

Mark is snoozing in bed still and i'm sitting on the sofa gathering strength for today. I've had a makeshift bath and will soon go down to sainsbury's to buy more cleaning products.

We're making good progress though, mark got through loads yesterday. Now it's my turn.

Going to bed in crystal palace

The sale of the flat fell through so i'm now in crystal palace to do the flat up. I'm sleeping here to save as much time as possible.

Mark is with me the first night but the rest of the weekend he's on nights so can't help.

I should be ok, i've got tomorrow off to be here so i've got three days. That should be ok to scrub the whole flat, paint all woodwork, paint the whole flat and do things like hang curtains and put shelves up. Piece of cake! :)

We're hopefully exchanging contracts soon on the flat in crystal palace. Last tie with my old life going.

The register office

In order to get married in Britain you need to have your names on the notice board so that people can object if there are any reasons why you can't marry. Strange system.

Off to the leisure centre

I'm off to the leisure centre now for am induction to the gym. I probably won't use the gym very much as i love the swimming, but without the induction i'm not even allowed in and i might want to use it at the odd occasion.

Tigger

Next door's cat is taking a well earned nap in our garden. (We must get rid of those doors soon! And the christmas tree!!!!!!!)

In the corner of the photo is our new compost bins! We've started composting! Well, not really just yet as I haven't got any soil in the bottom yet. As we can't put it on grass we need to start it off with a small layer of soil so the worms have something to live in for the first few weeks. They also won't come in naturally so when Mark goes to Wales next time he'll bring some manure back with worms. Great!

We also recycle plastic, glass, paper and tins now so almost only put food waste that can't be recycled into the normal bins. Feels quite good actually.

The compost bins were free from the council. Some councils hand them out to people who want them as they want people to recycle more. (Less for the dust-men to take away.) Good initiative! Check if your council also gives them away by typing in "Free compost bins" in Google or whichever your favourite search engine is.

One fat bum...

and two cute noses! Pigs are out in the garden on a field day.

Pak choi for the pigs!

They love pak choi so i'm growing it for them. I think i might harvest some now, they're nicest when they are young and tender. Just tried one and they're quite nice. Maybe i'll chuck some in a salad or as an addition to the bbq.

Womens event at my friends church.

I'm at a womens event with a friend. A completely new experience! Very educational.
